Penguatan Hubungan Kerjasama Indonesia-Malaysia Dalam Menangani Kejahatan Transnasional

Abstract

This study attempts to explain the bilateral cooperation between Indonesia andMalaysia in an effort to reduce the occurrence of transnational crimes.Transnational crime is defined as cross-border crime and disrupt a country'snational security to be able to create conflicts. One factor transnational crimein parts of Indonesia and Malaysia are the geographical proximity as theregion bordering the sea and land. The most common crimes such as drugtrafficking, human trafficking and fugitive problems. The approach of thisresearch is interdependence liberalism, that the interaction between bothcountries was a potential conflict or cooperation occurs in countries that aregeographically contiguous. Under the complex interdependence, the problemsthat arise can be reduced if both countries have a strong desire to worktogether to solve problems that arise. The results of this study revealed that thebilateral cooperation chosen by Indonesia and Malaysia in resolving conflictsand transnational crime through agreements settlement programs issues, suchas cooperation in the field of law and joint border monitoring.
